About the assignment

BAE Systems Bofors develops, produces, and delivers advanced defense systems and is in a continued strong growth phase. The development department has grown steadily over the past few years – and forecasts show a continued increased need for competence and leadership.

As part of this journey, the organization within the Systems unit is developing, with a focus on creating a sustainable structure that meets both today's and tomorrow's needs.

Your role

As Section Manager for Systems Engineering, you are responsible for leading and developing a section that works with the holistic perspective on products – where several technical areas meet and collaborate.

Here, systems engineering is not just about software systems, but about understanding, coordinating, and developing the entire defense system. This includes areas such as electronics, electrical systems, mechanics/design, software, and IT security – and how these work together as a whole.

You are not expected to be a specialist in all these areas, but you have a good technical understanding and the ability to see the big picture, ask the right questions, and create the right conditions for your employees to succeed.

In your section, there is a mix of experience – from very experienced employees with a long background in the business to more junior talents at the beginning of their careers. An important part of your assignment is to create an environment where both these groups receive the right support, development, and opportunity to contribute.

Your profile

We are looking for you who is an experienced leader with the ability to create security, structure, and direction – while being driven by development and improvement.

You have:

• Technical post-secondary education or equivalent experience that we assess as equivalent
• Broad technical understanding and experience of systems engineering in complex environments
• Leadership experience, for example as line manager or project manager
• Experience of working in project-based organizations
• Good understanding of the interaction between different technical areas
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
